Certain features come as standard on all 332-xxxx telephones at no additional charge. These features are CALL HOLD, CALL TRANSFER, CALL WAITING, CONSULTATION, LAST NUMBER REDIAL, and THREE-WAY CONFERENCE CALLING.
- To transfer a call to another 332 telephone...
- Depress the switchhook momentarily;
- listen for recall dial tone;
- dial the room telephone number;
- listen for ringing;
- hang up.
- NOTE: If busy or no answer, return to original call by depressing switchhook twice momentarily.
- To hold a call and privately consult a third party, either on or off campus....
- Depress the switchhook momentarily;
- listen for recall dial tone;
- dial third party's telephone number;
- listen for ringing;
- third party answers; consult.
- NOTE: If busy or no answer, return to original call by depressing switchhook twice momentarily.
- To return to the original call...
- Depress switchhook twice momentarily;
- The other party is disconnected.
- To add a third party, either on or off campus, to a call in progress...
- Depress switchhook momentarily to place original call on hold;
- listen for recall dial tone;
- dial 3rd party's telephone number;
- listen for ringing;
- depress switchhook momentarily to connect all three parties.
- NOTE: If busy or no answer, return to original call by depressing switchhook twice momentarily.
CAUTION! SOME PEOPLE FIND IT VERY EASY TO ACCIDENTLY ACTIVATE THE CONFERENCE CALLING FEATURE. YOU MAY BE CHARGED TWICE FOR THE SAME CALL IF YOU DO NOT GET A REGULAR DIAL TONE BEFORE PLACING A CALL (that you do not intend to be a conference call). If you hear a RECALL DIAL TONE (beep, beep, beep, then a steady tone), the Conference Calling feature has been activated - hang up and try again.
- To hold an existing call...
- Depress switchhook momentarily;
- listen for recall dial tone;
- dial hold code 18;
- listen for confirmation tone;
- lay handset beside phone or place another call.
- To return to the call...
- Replace handset in cradle;
- phone rings
- lift handset and begin speaking.
These codes are used in the patterns:
- To recall the last number dialed...
- Lift handset;
- listen for dial tone;
- depress # button; last number dialed is automatically redialed.
- (Depressing the # button again will speed the call along.)
- If it's a Long Distance number...
- Dial 6 - DT - ILLICALL - # - # - #
- DT = Dial Tone
- ILLICALL = Illicall Number
- # = "pound" or "number sign" key
